About Us:
Who We Are and What We Do
The Foxboro business unit of Invensys is a leading supplier of instruments, systems, and services for industrial process automation. These solutions typically include intelligent field instrumentation, automation systems, and advanced software applications, plus comprehensive engineering, maintenance, and training.

Customer industries include: chemicals, oil and gas, pulp and paper, food, pharmaceuticals, mining and metals, electric utilities, and water and waste treatment. Foxboro automation systems help ensure the quality of commonly used products ranging from reformulated gasoline to reduce air pollution, to nutritious breakfast cereals, to recycled paper, to safe and effective medicines.
Today, Foxboro works along with Avantis, SimSci-Esscor, Triconex. Wonderware, APV, Eurotherm and other leading Invensys brands to provide customers with the most comprehensive and well-integrated solutions available from a single automation vendor.
Systems

The flagship Foxboro process automation offering is the widely acclaimed Intelligent Automation Series, the first of the current generation of standards-based, open industrial systems designed to meet the total measurement, control and real-time information requirements of today's plants. Through continuous innovation, the I/A Series system has maintained its technological leadership over time, enabling users to continuously leverage the latest technologies for improved plant performance, while preserving their investments in system hardware, software, and applications. Today's I/A Series systems provide excellent support for all major digital field protocols, including FOUNDATION fieldbus, HART, ProfiBus, and FoxCom. The open, interoperable Foxboro approach to fieldbus provides customers with the freedom to select the specific instrumentation and protocols that best meet their requirements. As a founding member of the FDT (Field Device Tool) Joint Interest Group, Invensys also supports this important emerging standard, which builds upon and enhances existing fieldbus technology.
The current generation of I/A Series systems are also positioned to leverage Invensys' emerging ArchestrA automation architecture and component-based applications to further reduce engineering costs and enhance interoperability.
A second process control system called the Foxboro A2 automation system, provides a low-cost, easy-to-use, feature-rich distributed process control solution for smaller applications at a price competitive with PLC/HMI solutions. Like the I/A Series system, the Foxboro A2 automation system is designed to take full advantage of ArchestrA component applications.
Instruments

A broad range of Foxboro intelligent and conventional instruments measure, indicate, record, and control process variables such as flow, pressure, temperature, liquid level, pH, conductivity, and chemical composition. Recent Foxboro innovations include an award-winning Digital Coriolis flowmeter and the rugged DolpHin pH sensor.
Certification
Foxboro provides its global customers with an extensive range of services, including application engineering and implementation, installation, technical support, education, and – in conjunction with other Invensys units – ongoing performance services.
