New Advantage Offerings

Cluster FBCs can now be upgraded to 200 Series FBMs on the Mesh!

IPS is pleased to announce a new permanent Advantage offering: Cluster I/O can now be upgraded to 200 Series I/O on the Mesh using the Advantage Upgrade Program.

Cluster I/O subsystems were introduced in 1994 as an economic alternative to the 100 Series I/O. In 1999 Cluster I/O was moved to the Available Phase and in 2001 it was withdrawn from sale. Cluster is currently in the Mature Phase of its lifecycle and will remain there until 2011, when it will transition to the LifeTime Phase.

Launching this new offering as a core part of the Advantage Program ensures a supply of returned Cluster parts, which in turn will support MEP and repairs for those customers who are not yet ready to upgrade during the Mature Phase. IPS is fully committed to continue MEP and to repair them; however, we are unable to supply new boards or refurbished boards for expansions.

In 2011 Cluster will transition to the LifeTime Phase of its lifecycle. Even though that is still 4 years away, it is not too soon to start planning upgrades to the Preferred I/A Series I/O module.

Cluster FBCs to 200 Series FBMs Upgrades apply to 200 Series I/O identified by the IPS Advantage team and only when connected to CP270 on the Mesh. This offer is not valid for use with CP60s.

As with all Advantage Upgrade discounts offered, these discounts are extended in exchange for the return of Cluster I/O, Power Supplies and associated peripherals.
